The fifth edition of the European Vocational Skills Week took place between 9 and 13 November 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year all events predicted by the programme were organized online. The topic of the current edition is “VET for Green and Digital transition”, which reflects the goals of the “European Green Deal” and the “Europe fit for the digital age”.
The European Vocational Skills Week is a yearly event organized by the European Commission. The aim of the event is to promote the potential and spread knowledge about vocational and educational training, to exchange good practices and information about VET in Europe and beyond. During the Week takes place also the ceremony of VET Excellence, an award for organisations and individuals involved in promoting and offering high-quality vocational education and training¹.

The European Vocational Skills Week is open to participants from Europe and outside. There are several ways to contribute to the event, such as participation in activities, voting in VET excellence award or sharing the personal VET story. Moreover, local, regional or national organisations have the possibility to become a part of the Week by organizing an event or activity which focus on vocational education and training. In order to do so, they must fill in a form and register the event on the website https://ec.europa.eu/social/vocational-skills-week/events-and-activities_en Overall, the European Vocational Skills Week consists in more than 1,100 events in 38 partner countries and involves more than 3.6 million participants².
