According to the last statistics published in 2018 by EUROSTAT * the largest group of NEETs is composed of young people with an upper secondary level of education – the so called ‘missing middle’, often excluded from the policy discourse. However, beyond absolute numbers, the probability of becoming NEET still decreases as educational level increases: hence, education is confirmed as the best protection against unemployment and exclusion. Nevertheless, southern European and Mediterranean countries tend to have a large proportion of well-educated NEETs as a result of the crisis (European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions, 2016).
TIA Formazione APS aims to propose European projects proposal addressed to NEETS with the aim of giving regard to social inclusion as one of the main objectives of the projects proposed and manager by TIA Formazione APS.
It is also particularly interesting to observe that in 2018, there were in nine EU Member States where the proportion of young female NEETs was at least 10.0 percentage points higher than the corresponding share for young men Among these, the difference between the sexes was within the range of 10–11 percentage points in Bulgaria, Italy and Estonia, rising to 14–16 points in Greece, Poland and Romania, before peaking at 18.8 in Hungary, 19.4 in Slovakia and 21.3 points in Czechia; an even wider gender gap was recorded in Turkey (36.7 points) (Eurostat 2018).
Just for this reason one of the main objectives by Tia Formazione is the social inclusion of women NEETS because it is an aspect very important also for social growth.
Tia Formazione, in this sense is studying different projects whose aim is to detect neets with the aim of trying possible to solutions to let them to create a bridge with job market through different ways: from employment to entrepreneurship and self entrepreneurship, all anyway based on implementation of education that will take into account needs, differences and social context.
